Rope, Bondage & Consent: A Beginners Workshop

Join us for an immersive and educational workshop exploring the art of rope bondage as a tool for understanding consent, communication, and human connection.
This beginner-friendly class introduces the foundations of clear consent negotiation, basic rope safety, and teaches two introductory rope ties. Participants will gain hands-on experience while learning how power exchange and trust can deepen mutual understanding — both in rope practice and in everyday interactions.
Through guided exercises and open discussion, attendees will leave with practical tools to foster respectful, intentional, and confident communication — on and off the rope.
Facilitated by C.H.A.I.N. (Consensual Healthy Adventures In Negotiation) — a project to use tools from the kink community to teach skills for human connections in the festival scene. The lead educator began his journey in kink events over ten years ago, and with a professional background in both education and engineering, brings a combination of teaching and technical skills.
