Eric Haacht: Untitled (the deep common trap) part 1

Mirus Gallery

$2,000.00

Oil on canvas, 2017

Framed dimensions: 11 x 15 inches

Framed in white

Eric Haacht is a self taught portrait painter based out of the United Kingdom. Eric creates seemingly wet portraits where the defining facial features are distorted and erased with the swipe of a paint brush or palate knife. By doing so, Eric exposes the underlying layers of color, often wiping away the visual perception of race, ethnicity, and gender identities. What’s remaining is perhaps a representation of the core of the self, revealing the muddy and also dynamic expressions of personality and the temporary nature of mortality. This piece was exhibited in Mirus Gallery's Anamorphic Portraiture group exhibition in June 2017.
