Seleka Munioz: Selected works from 'Aporias' Group Exhibition
Seleka Munoz is a Spanish painter who has deep roots in making work in the streets but has kept a studio practice on the side for decades now. His work echoes contemporary artists like Albert Ohlen, Joan Mitchell and Matías Sánchez. His prolific presence in the cities of Barcelona and Madrid helped him and his close graff writer friends gain recognition from around the world. Their styles began to separate from the New York Graff scene and helped them stay outside the mainstream. Recently he has turned to the studio to create large works with extremes of color and thick impasto brushstrokes. Today he is pushing the boundaries of abstraction and expressionism by bringing his true unique flavor and mark to the canvas.
